30 - "Hello," Oasis

The most successful of the "Brit-Pop" movement from the mid-90s, Oasis has built their reputation on having moving ballads and sad, slow songs. Granted, they're very good songs. "Wonderwall" is a classic. "Champagne Supernova" is great. "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is sad. The list goes on.

But, I actually prefer the band's more upbeat songs. "Hello" is the first track off their breakthrough (What's the Story) Morning Glory? album and it really helps show that they could do more than just "Wonderwall." In fact, I think that's why they tease the opening of "Wonderwall" before this song. You start the album and the first thing you hear is what you expect from them, then it quickly cuts out and the heavy guitars and drums kick in.

If you've only heard Oasis on the radio, then you're likely only hearing the slow stuff. They're more multi-faceted than they get credit for. Great band.
